Om Vincens hörna
Før 1800 fandtes der ingen kystvej østpå fra Trelleborg. Siden kom der et kørespor frem til “Vincents hörna”.
Huset midtfor var Vincents affär (forretning), bygget omkring 1880. Anders Vincent vendte tilbage fra et 8‑årigt ophold i Australien i 1884. I 1891 giftede han sig med Kersti Persson fra Tullstorp, og hun startede en syerske- og manufakturforretning her. Nogle år senere åbnede de en kolonialvarehandel med lidt af hver og med tilladelse til at sælge vin og øl. (Man kan læse yderligere om Anders Vincent i bogen, der henvises til nedenfor.)
Selv om der nu var køremulighed til Vincents hörna, var der ingen bro over Sänkebäk, men blot et vadested. Fra Vincents måtte rejsende tage kirkevejen over Lilla Beddinge by op til Östra Vemmenhög og derefter ned til Hörte for at komme til Ystad.
I 1928 påbegyndtes vejen gennem Beddingestrand, og sommeren efter var den klar østpå mod Disbäck. Højest tilladte hastighed var da 45 km/t og 35 km/t i de mindre byer.
Der fandtes dem, der ville køre hurtigere. Allerede i 1926 var den første “ligebanekonkurrence” blevet oprettet i Skåne, nærmere bestemt i Sjöbo. Hvad var vel mere på sin plads end at indvie den nye vej med en motorcykelkonkurrence?
Den løb af stablen søndag den 11. august 1929 og arrangeredes af Motorklubben Tändstiften (tændrøret) i Malmö med over 60 startende ekvipager.
Konkurrencen gennemførtes med flyvende start. Man startede ude ved Disbäck på en 900 meters tilløbsstrækning. Selve konkurrencestrækningen var kun på 500 meter, og målet var ved Granhyddan. Starterne var enkeltvis, og der blev benyttet en for den tid avanceret tidtagning.
Der fandtes 5 forskellige kategorier: turist, sport, racer plus to sidevognsklasser. Inden for hver kategori fandtes der forskellige klasser afhængigt af cylindervolumen. Den varierede fra 250 til 1200 cc, og resultatlisten omfattede derfor ikke mindre end 20 klasser.
Hugo Carlsson fra Malmö på en Saroléa 500 cc og Allan Blomkvist fra Göteborg på en Douglas 750 cc var hurtigst. De kørte begge på 10,9 sek, eller 165,14 km/t. Nils Holmberg fra Skivarp nåede op på 111,8 km/t på sin Harley Davidson 1000 cc turistmaskine.

About Vincent’s corner
Before 1800, there was no coastal road east from Trelleborg. Then a lane came up to “Vincents hörna” (Vincent’s corner).
The house in front was Vincent’s business, built around 1880. Anders Vincent returned from an 8‑year stay in Australia in 1884. In 1891 he married Kersti Persson from Tullstorp, and she started a sewing and manufacturing business here. A few years later, they opened a grocery store with a little of each and with permission to sell wine and beer. (You can read more about Anders Vincent in the book, which is referred to below.)
Although it was now possible to drive to Vincent’ corner, there was no bridge over Sänkebäk, just a ford. From Vincent’s travelers had to take the church road over Lilla Beddinge up to Östra Vemmenhög and down to Hörte to get to Ystad.
In 1928, the construction of the road through Beddingestrand began, and the following summer it was ready to head east towards Disbäck. The maximum permitted speed was then 45 km/h and 35 km/h in the smaller towns.
There were those who wanted to drive faster. As early as 1926, the first “straight track competition” had been set up in Scania, more specifically in Sjöbo. What could be more appropriate than inaugurating the new road with a motorcycle competition?
It was launched on Sunday 11 August 1929 and arranged by Motorklubben Tändstiften (the motor bike club — spark plug) in Malmö, with over 60 starting crews.
The competition was conducted with flying start. They started out at Disbäck on a 900 meter approach. The actual competition stretch was only 500 meters, and the goal was at Granhyddan. The starters were individual, and an advanced timing was used for that time.
There were 5 different categories: tourist, sports, racing plus two sidecar classes. Within each category, there were different classes depending on the cylinder volume. This ranged from 250 to 1200 cc, and the list of results therefore included no less than 20 classes.
