Om den svenske kirkes flag
Den svenske kirke flager med et rødt kors på gul bund med en gul krone i midten. Dette er en fejlagtig kombination. Historisk kunne den svenske kirke legitimt vise et lodret skjold fra det 13. århundrede. Ikke desto mindre er dette heraldisk ukorrekte flag blevet godkendt i 1977 — guderne må vide af hvem? Beslutningen krænker det fælles nordiske flag fra Kalmarunionen, der netop havde et rødt kors på gul bund — og naturligvis hverken en dansk eller svensk krone.
Den svenske kirke burde rettelig flage med det lodrette skjold, der viser et rødt kors på gul bund og den svenske krone med en neutral hvid baggrund, som det er illustreret i det øverste højre hjørne af billedet. Der findes intet historisk grundlag for, at den svenske kirker bruger Kalmarunionens flag som i dette tilfælde fra 2011 i Skivarp.
About the flag of the Swedish Church
The Swedish Church flags with a red cross on yellow background with a yellow crown in the center . This is a wrong combination. Historically the Swedish Church could legitimately show a vertical shield from the 13th century. Nevertheless this heraldically incorrect flag was approved in 1977 — only God knows by whom? The decision violates the common Nordic flag from the Kalmar Union, which just had a red cross on a yellow background — and of course neither a Danish nor Swedish crown.
The Swedish Church should correctly flag with the vertical shield showing a red cross on yellow background with a neutral white background – as illustrated in the upper right corner of the image. There is no historic justification for the Swedish Church to use the flag of the Kalmar Union as in this case from 2011 in Skivarp.
